Otago Secondary Schools Speech Competition

Congratulations to Jacobi Kohu-Morris who has won the Otago Secondary Schools speech competition, competing against speakers from 13 other secondary schools in Otago. Jacobi is in year 10 and this is the second time he has won this competition - the first student to have won in consecutive years. Jacobi's topic was inequality and poverty in NZ and the increasing gap between the wealthy and the poor.   Jacobi also won the Maori Nga Manu Korero Otago Southland speech competiton earlier this year.

Barbara Kendall inspires PE students

Barbara Kendall MBE, Olympic medal winner for board sailing, World Board sailing champion and member of the Olympic International Committee, met with a number of sporting students from Otago recently.  She talked to students about developing confidence, having a positive attitude and making the most of their potential, reinforcing some of the values learnt in Health/PE at Logan Park.
