Indoor Rowing.....and the winner is Toroa!

Logan Park's inaugural Indoor Rowing House competition was a great success yesterday, with teams of 4 combining to row 2000m in an endeavour to beat the times that Mahe Drysdale and Emma Twigg raced at the 2012 Olympic Games.

Toroa won the Junior Boys and Senior Girls events giving them enough points to take out the overall title.  However it was the Aoraki Senior Boys team who beat the times of Mahe and Emma.

International Food Festival

Youth Week got off to a great start on Monday with the International Food Festival.   A wide variety of aromatic and mouth-watering dishes were on offer to the queues of students. The annual event is always well-supported and tickets sell-out quickly.    Students enjoy preparing food from their culture and then sharing it with each other.   The many requests for recipes is a positive sign that the dishes are enjoyable, with some students asking for it to be a weekly event!

Girls' Football team meet Annalie Longo

The girls' football team capped off their season by meeting Annalie Longo recently. Annalie, a midfielder for the NZ Football Ferns, was the youngest ever player to represent NZ. The team not only met Annalie, but also talked about what it takes to play at the top and also trained and played a game with her. The team has had some notable successes this year beating OGHS for the first time and also winning the Co-Educational Schools Football competition.
