LPHS Services Academy offers a year long programme to prepare students for a career in the NZ Defence Force or Essential Services and provides a pathway to tertiary education.

Our aim is to produce graduates with a strong sense of respect for themselves and others with developed leadership skills and qualities, young men and women with a greater sense of social responsibility who become role models within their whanau, peers and greater community.
The Services Academy is a ‘free’ course for students, all course costs, including uniforms, camps etc are covered. Please contact the Services Academy Director– Tip Winiata (B.Ed, Youth Worker/Counsellor, Ex-NZ Navy) to discuss all entry criteria, for example, the student must have low qualifications-less than 12 credits in English (literacy) and/or Mathematics (numeracy) NCEA Level 1.
